Policies

Here outlines the terms and conditions for our music courses. If you require clarification, please contact us.

Definitions

  • School: Refers to SoMe Music School.

  • Your Teacher: The instructor assigned for your music lessons.

  • School Calendar: The internal calendar of SoMe Music School, available on our website.

  • Student: The registered student or their parent/legal guardian if the student is under 18.

  • Lesson Slot: Fixed weekly lesson schedule (date and time) agreed upon during registration.

  • Makeup Credit: Compensation for missed lessons.

  • Credit Note: The monetary value assigned to missed lessons.

Enrolment

1.1 Students must pay a non-refundable registration fee upon enrolment.
1.2 A refundable deposit must be paid upon enrolment, requiring a 30-day notice for refund eligibility.
1.3 Enrolment implies agreement with the terms and conditions.

Fees

For Individual Weekly Lessons:
2.1 Fees are based on a package of 10 lessons per course, with each package valid for 3 months. The total number of lessons per year is 44. Please refer to our School Calendar for specific dates.
2.2 All fees are due for payment by the date indicated on the invoice.

2.3 If the student fails to make payment for the current month within 14 days after the invoice due date, a late fee of 10 SGD will be added to the student’s invoice.
2.4 If the student still has not paid the invoice within 30 days after the due date, the school reserves the right to terminate the student's enrolment and publicly release the course time slots.
2.5 Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, except for siblings or direct family members.

For Flexible Adult Lesson Packages:

2.6 Full payment for all lesson packages must be made before the first scheduled lesson.
2.7 All lessons in the package must be completed by the specified deadline. Each 10-lesson course package is valid for 6 months.
2.8 Expired lessons are non-refundable. Students may apply for an extension through the appeal form on our website.

For Music Explorer (Group Lessons):

2.9 Group class students are only required to pay a registration fee and do not need to pay a deposit.
2.10 Each course package is a short-term package, and classes will not automatically renew after completion. Specific course arrangements will be subject to the school's announcement.

Lesson Cancellations

3.1 Cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice, or 7 days for non-urgent cases like exams or travel. Makeup credits will be issued.
3.2 Last-minute cancellations (under 24 hours) result in lesson forfeiture unless supported by medical proof.
3.3 If the teacher cancels, an alternate teacher, makeup credit, or credit note will be offered.
3.4 Makeup credits can be used with another teacher or transferred to siblings or family.
3.5 Unused makeup credits expire 30 days after withdrawal.

For Music Explorer (Group Lessons):

3.6 If a student is unable to attend class, they must request leave from the instructor in advance.
3.7 No make-up lessons will be provided for group classes, but class video recordings will be available for parents to review and learn from. (No make-up lesson will be provided).

Lesson Pauses

4.1 Temporary pauses for valid reasons (e.g. hospitalization, exams) require a 14-day notice with a Temporary Suspension Form.
4.2 Lesson slots can be held for 30 days, extendable to 60 days with prepayment of one month’s fees.
4.3 Resuming lessons requires a 14-day notice.

For Music Explorer (Group Lessons):

4.4 After signing up and starting the course, students are generally not allowed to suspend lessons. In special cases (such as illness, etc.), relevant proof (e.g. a doctor's note) must be provided, and the school will review and approve the request for possible arrangements.

Lesson Withdrawal

5.1 Lesson withdrawal requires a 30-day notice with a Withdrawal Request Form.
5.2 Deposits are refunded if:
   (i) Notice is given 30 days in advance.
   (ii) All unpaid invoices are cleared.
5.3 All lessons and credits must be used within the notice period. Unused credits are non-refundable.
5.4 If unreachable for 14 days, enrolment may be terminated.

For Music Explorer (Group Lessons):

5.5 After signing up and starting the course, students are generally not allowed to suspend lessons. In special cases (such as illness, etc.), relevant proof (e.g. a doctor's note) must be provided, and the school will review and approve the request for possible arrangements.

Media Release

6.1 The School may capture photos and videos for training, marketing, or documentation.
6.2 Students consent to the use of their images in publications without compensation. Notice may not always be given.

7

Rights and Disputes

7.1 The School reserves the right to adjust lesson schedules, fees, and teacher assignments.
7.2 Terms may be modified, including adding or removing clauses and revising fees.
7.3 The School’s decisions in disputes are final.
